I recently had the privilege of attending the pre-Inaugural cruise aboard the Celebrity Ascent, the fourth addition to the stunning Edge series fleet by Celebrity Cruises. Sailing from Fort Lauderdale on November 29, this premium venue at sea left me thoroughly impressed, and I am excited to share why you should consider Celebrity Cruises and the Celebrity Ascent for your next event.
Constructed by Chantier de l’Atlantique in France and delivered in October 2023, the Celebrity Ascent boasts a double occupancy of 3,260 guests, a gross tonnage of 141,420, a length of 1,073 ft, and a beam of 128 ft.
The embarkation process at T25 was exceptionally efficient; I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10.
I couldn't imagine it getting any better, and this marks the third time that Celebrity has truly impressed me with flawlessly orchestrated embarkation and debarkation processes, seamlessly incorporating cutting-edge technologies.
Upon boarding, I was privileged to attend a Theater Conversation session with the Celebrity Executive Management, including Laura Hodges Bethge, the new President of Celebrity Cruises, and Jason Liberty, the President and CEO of the Royal Caribbean Group. They engaged in a lively and enjoyable discussion, addressing questions from the travel community on board. This unique session added an extra layer of insight and engagement to my experience.

THE MAGIC CARPET
One standout feature is the innovative Magic Carpet, a transformative space accommodating up to 100 guests. Positioned differently on each deck, it offers unique perspectives, exciting venues, and a distinct experience with comfortable seating, a full bar, and live music performances. I personally enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and mood lights during evening drinks—an experience truly unique to this cruise ship.

While children are welcome, Celebrity Cruises maintains a lower ratio than contemporary lines, offering a more premium, cosmopolitan experience for your event.
SIPPING THE PERFECT MARTINI
AT THE GRAND PLAZA
The Martini Bar, located in the Grand Plaza, is the social hub of the Celebrity Ascent. Sipping a perfect Martini beneath the glow of a new LED chandelier while witnessing gravity-defying flair bartenders was a truly entertaining experience.
MORE THAN A SIMPLE BUFFET
THE OCEANVIEW CAFÉ IS FULL OF SURPRISES
The Oceanview Café, known for its spectacular offerings and designed as a marketplace, did not disappoint. With stunning views and a diverse menu, it showcased the distinctive quality of Celebrity Cruises. Luxury items such as Lobster Tails, Pata Negra and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese were delightful surprises.
RESTAURANT BLU AND MORE
THE AQUACLASS ADDED VALUE
Being hosted in an Infinity AquaClass Veranda was a privilege, providing open-air access to the sea and an array of exclusive benefits. The AquaClass exclusive complimentary restaurant Blu, with its beautifully decorated ambiance, outstanding food, and service, made the experience truly special.
Blu, with a capacity of 172 seats, stands out as a perfect venue for groups. This exclusive restaurant offers a dedicated space for AquaClass guests, ensuring an intimate and personalized dining experience. The capacity is ideal for accommodating a group of such size, providing a private and comfortable setting for group meals. The restaurant's thoughtfully crafted menu and elegant atmosphere further enhance the overall dining experience, making it a standout choice for groups seeking a more intimate and exclusive setting.
VERSATILE VENUES
THE EDEN IS SPECIAL
The multifunctional lounge Eden, a feature of the Edge series, promises a sensory journey. It's an ideal venue for group receptions, offering an ever-evolving, multi-sensory experience.
The Club, with a capacity of 208 guests, is another noteworthy space for events. Whether hosting team-building games, presentations, or evening gatherings, The Club transforms into a lively atmosphere perfect for various group activities. Its versatile design ensures a seamless transition from daytime meetings to nighttime entertainment.
THE STATE OF ART THEATRE
EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT
The Celebrity Ascent's entertainment was nothing short of spectacular, featuring state-of-the-art technology in the Theatre. This venue boasts a capacity of 997 seats and features a 20-foot-tall 4K LED screen comprised of 17 million pixels that curves 110 feet around the stage. The integration of new projection technology immerses you like never before, making it an unforgettable experience.
CONNECTING YOUR SENSES WITH THE OCEAN
ROOF TOP GARDEN AND SUNSET LOUNGE
The ship's Roof Top Garden, an expansive and breathtaking area to unwind, enjoy a sports event, play games, or take a dip in a beautiful infinity plunge pool, adds another layer of allure to the Celebrity Ascent. Coupled with the marvelous Sunset Lounge, located at the aft, which offers mesmerizing wake views, it creates the perfect backdrop for a drink, coffee, or even catching up on some work. The internet connection seamlessly extended throughout the ship, ensuring you stay connected with ease.
ZEN ELEMENTS
GREAT SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE
The service was certainly of premium standards, with an enthusiastic and helpful crew creating a memorable experience. Zen elements, mindfulness features, and a premium / luxury environment pervaded the ship, making it an ideal setting for events, vacations, or group gatherings. The Celebrity Ascent offers much more to explore, and I highly recommend considering it for your next voyage and event: you will not be disappointed!
